Stratoz and I are going to be back at the Audubon Art & Craft Festival, July 16th and 17th, 2011, from 10-5 in Hawley, PA. Known regionally as the finest Art and Craft show in the Poconos, this non-profit event raises funds for student scholarships and environmentally threatened areas in the Northern Poconos.
The Festival takes place in the Wallenpaupack School Complex that is located on Rt. 6 two miles south east of Hawley, PA on the eastern shore of beautiful Lake Wallenpaupack. A rare breed, this show is held indoors in air conditioned coolness, with free parking and $5.00 admission fee.
A Wildlife Art Show will run in conjunction with the festival , and activities such as:
The Delaware Valley Raptor Center will have live raptors – hawks, owls and falcons on site.
The Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center will present live animals and an entertaining presentation on the animals and their behavior.
The Binghamton Zoo will bring a variety of animals, for people to observe close up, and ask the experts questions.
The Northeast PA Audubon Society will have an education table with free items for the family and a program on the NAS Forest Campaign.
Nutmeg Designs will be in the Village of Skippack, PA, for Skippack Spring Fest hosted by Victorian Carriage Shops, on May 7th[Due to the tent blowing over, we will not be there on the 8th. We’re ok, our craft is ok, but the tent has some twisted metal to deal with]. We’re breaking out the tent for our first outdoor show of the season, and bringing lots of new mosaics and stained glass. We’ll be on the property of the Victorian Carriage Shops, devoted to handmade crafts. Look for Sweet Treats Ice Cream and the Irish Village Shop, and you’ll know you are at the right place. Hope to see you there!

Normally, I don’t like when music comes popping on when I visit a site, but when I was looking for spring shows for Nutmeg Designs, and came across the CD RamBand Boosters show, and it was jazz that came on, and I was smitten. Their Spring Show is a benefit for the CD RamBand, which includes a concert and jazz ensembles. Stratoz and I have a soft spot for jazz, and we signed up for the 21st Annual CD Ram Band Spring Show, happening this Saturday April 2nd, from 9-3 at the Central Dauphin Highschool, Harrisburg, PA.
Stratoz and I are pleased to be back at the Owen J. Roberts’ Annual Craft Show for 2011, in Pottstown, PA. We were busy during our hiatus from craft shows in January and February, and I have new pendants(an item which premiered at this show last year!!), frames and the Rainbow Mandala pictured above, which I am excited to share with the world. Stratoz has some dashing new suncatchers in really cool glass. OJR has the best food, with Bause-Landry Catering, and their fabulous chocolate cake with caramel icing. Proceeds benefit programs by OJR Friends of the Arts to bring art to students and the community.

Our last show of the season finds us going south to Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia. This is the 28th annual Craft Show, which supports the activities of the Water Tower Recreation Center. We are in the gym, so come by and check out the array of cool gift ideas from suncatchers, to trivets, mirrors and mandalas. This is a jewelry-less show for us, but still plenty of sparkle!
Stratoz and I are excited to be back at the Kimberton Waldorf School 34th Annual Artisan Village/Craft show. Christkindlmarkt had us feeling pensive Thanksgiving weekend, being in a huge tent, with carnival food(including on site baked pizza from Nico, which I could subsist on), and busloads of tourists. We met some lovely people, and enjoyed sending 22 of our craftworks out into the world, but Kimberton has our vibe. We are in the Gym, by the stage, same as last year, with the rainbow mural gradating through all the colors around the perimeter. Last year I was kept rapt by the talented students playing live music, the delicious desserts, good coffee, homemade soup and bread, and of course the fine handiwork of my fellow crafters.

Here in the little town of Lansdale we are getting ready for our journey to Bethlehem, PA for Christkindlmarkt. We will be there the first weekend, starting Black Friday through Sunday, November 26-28, 2010.
