First time to your blog via the #WW site.
That’s a very cool picture and the design is great. I liked the the way the yellow stands out and highlights the mandala. Is a mandala made of cut glass or similar to glass painting ? (excuse the ignorance)
Happy #WW ! Do drop by my blog and share your link on my linky 🙂

  2. Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for asking what it is made out of, since I didn’t really say! The center is black stained glass that I cut with wheeled mosaic nippers(sort of like scissors for glass), surrounded by translucent amber stained glass(which really glows because light can get into it), iridized cream glass, and then a wispy olive green glass–I took the palest bits first and then gradated it to the darkest olive green at the edges. After gluing the pieces, I grouted with black sanded grout.

    wow….That’s beautiful!
I can’t imagine I could ever do something like this. I just bought a book I can color ready mandala patterns – even that is pain but that’s why I bought it. I want to learn to be more patient.
How long did it take to make this?

  4. This was my first glass mandala, so it took me a couple weeks. Knitting helps me to be more patient–if I just let the impatient thoughts be there and focus on the yarn, I spend more time in the present moment.
