Rubbing the stain or pigment? into the pieces looks satisfying. I tend to like the “surprise” part of making art. I like it when you do something to the work that obscures it beauty momentarily until it is revealed again at a later stage. However that rich black is beautiful in and of itself! Very nice.

Not only is this series going to be beautiful when done (and it’s beautiful undone!), but I got a peek at your studio, too! Fun to see where you give birth to and nurture these masterpieces.

    • Thank you for the kind words! I like the idea of being “beautiful undone”! Actually, this is the studio of my client and friend Suzanne Halstead–since she’s doing the borders, and most of the grouting. Isn’t it awesome? I’ll post photos of my studio soon.

Hi Margaret – thanks for stopping by my blog! Your signs are gorgeous and inspiring 🙂 Abby PS I love mulberry paper too – I didn’t even take photos of my collection of that!
