Kris, Thank you for prompting me to add the site of Craftsman Farms and of Frank Glapa. Sometimes I get a little too wordless on wordless wednesday! The opener feels solid and capable of opening all mail, but surprisingly light.
Hi,
This is Frank M. Glapa who created the letter opener Margaret bought at Craftsman Farms. I still create them and more (now A&C jewelry too) if you like to contact me at [email protected]. We live in Chicago with my wife and my website is fmgdesigns.com – check out many other creations in copper!!
Some of my work will be exhibited at the Burchfield Penney Art Center in Buffalo NY from Opening Celebration on October 12 till March 24, 2013.
It is so beautiful, I will love to find a letter opener like that.
When I saw it I was smitten, and it as beautiful as it was 7 or 8 years ago when I bought it.
This piece has such a historic flair to it; even the background adds to the feeling of old world!
I’ve gotten a lot of use out of our “old world” windowsill for photos!
Great find. It looks like it has a great feel to it. Is it light or hefty? Does the farm have a website?

How pretty!
That is so elegant and beautiful! Sometimes I put off opening my mail, but with something like that, well, I would love to put it to use!
